It finally happened. Today on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Cindy Crawford made mention of the importance of homeopathic medicine in her life.
Hallelujah!!
To quote from Oprah’s website:
Cindy plays many roles at home—wife, mother
and even doctor! That’s why she never leaves
home without a natural first aid kit. “I’m a big fan
of homeopathy. If I have the kids, for sure I always
take this with me—bee stings, mosquito bites,
bruises” she says. And she never forgets her
homeopathic bible, ‘Homeopathic Medicine
at Home’ by Maesimund B. Panos.
I’ve been waiting for this day and it has finally arrived. I can’t imagine how many people, not unlike myself back in the early ’90′s, were hearing the word ‘homeopathy’ for the first time today. Hopefully they will get really curious….. and hopefully they will Google this new word…… and hopefully they will find my website, sign up for the Free Report, and become one of my students next Spring 2008 when I begin another teleseminar training session on the use of homeopathic medicine at home.
This one mention on Oprah today to the millions of Americans who were viewing will very likely make a huge difference in how mothers all across the U.S. think about the use of safe and non-toxic remedies for their families.
The rest of the world knows all about it and uses homeopathic remedies on a regular basis……why not us?!
To your health,

Dear Sean,
I can certainly understand your point of view, as I once thought the same thing.
Homeopathy actually saved my life. That’s the truth.
I had been becoming increasingly ill over a 4-year period of time. Nothing that the dozen or so medical doctors were doing was having any positive result. My condition was auto-immune, so my body was attacking itself with the resultant symptoms being low thyroid, severe weight loss, food allergies, migraines, body aches, NO energy, trouble concentrating, rashes and so forth. After 4 years of following to the letter everything that my medical doctors prescribed and recommended–including Synthroid, gamma globulin IV’s, B-12 shots, restricted diet, various prescribed medications, etc.– (with no healing results), it was one of the medical doctors who suggested I try homeopathy. As the doctor stated, “Why don’t you try homeopathy. It works for a lot of people.”
Well, 15 healthy years later, I’m the walking, talking skeptic who went ahead and gave homeopathy a try because I had no where else to turn. The remedy which I was given had pretty much immediate affect……it was as though my body’s gas tank was refueled. It took about a year to completely regain all of my homeostatis, strength and clarity, but regain it I did……and I continue to thrive.
Over the years, since studying and becoming certified as a homeopathic practitioner, I’ve used homeopathic medicine with great success with adults, children and animals.
That’s my story.
Sincerely,
Cathleen Springer

As anyone with an interest in science and medicine knows, “your story” doesn’t count for much. How homeopathy is supposed to work is impossible. Water has no healing properties. You are being “closed minded” to what other possiblities for your recovery may have been because, surely, a substance that’s been diluted – to the point where it no longer exists – couldn’t have done it. And, if water has a memory, then you also were injesting a lot of toxic waste.
And, of course, I shouldn’t have to tell anyone that water has “no side effects” once there’s nothing in it.
Did you read about the baby that just died by following the advice of her father – a homeopath? Or “Dr.” Frank Shallenberger (another homeopath in Nevada) who killed two people? How about all the homeopaths going to Africa to present their “cures” for people suffering from malaria? (That’s called “murder”, isn’t it?)
I like Cindy Crawford (as much as the next guy) but she’s not a doctor and she’s, most definitely, putting her children at serious risk of being killed.
Oprah should be ashamed for promoting such rubbish – and so should you.

Dear C.E…….I only know what I know and experience what I experience. You are welcome to your opinion.

For the scientifically minded folk, Homoeopathy obviously must work in the subatomic / electromagnetic realms where physics is slowly trying to understand quantum phenomena within Homoeopathic remedies. Saying that Homoeopathy is nothing but placebo is an uneducated comment as these highly diluted medicines have been prescribed by veterinarians to family pets and farm animals with beneficial results. As far as I know placebo doesn’t work on animals.
Studies have been carried out in India with medicines that have been diluted two hundred fold on the inhibition of certain hepatic carcinoma in mice with great succes.
There are Homoeopathic hospitals in operation in England, Scotland and India, I say bring back the Homoeopathic hospitals that once dotted the American landscape. And If Homoeopathy is thought to be ineffective and of no relevance then why keep the monument of the founder of Homoeopathy Samuel Hahnemann sitting in a park in Washington DC.
Homoeopathy will not work for everybody but neither does modern medicine. This is a well established system of complementary medicine and its remedies are slowly being researched and understood in greater depth.

Thank you for stating well that which is known to many about the research behind and popularity of homeopathic medicine in so many countries outside of the U.S.
Actually, right here in San Francisco, California, UCSF Medical Center was once a homeopathic hospital (prior to the creation of the AMA). Their library now houses the most complete homeopathic collection on the West Coast of the US. Countries outside of the US continue to consider homeopathic medicine right along with Western medicine.
As one point of reference regarding research, skeptics might want to check out “Homeopathy, A Frontier in Medical Science” by Paolo Bellavite, MD and Andrea Signorini, MD.
What I know about humankind is that there is a road to healing for everyone. Homeopathy deserves to be among the choices available. I don’t see ANY course of medicine as either/or. We should all have choice — the less invasive the better.

See what Homeopathy does to Cindy….in a good sense (dont get me wrong). But glad she mention this in the show.

I am quite new to detox, just discovered recently and to be honest, didn’t think I’d like it, tried it because my girlfriend told me that it’d be good for my back aches and to stop smoking.
On my recent holidays, I went to Koh Samui, to Kamalaya spa resort, and did a detox retreat. It was amazing, not only my back aches are much less and feel almost no cravings for cigarrettes (I still would like to smoke now and again) but feel much more inspired to do things, take care of myself and feel more clear in general.
I will keep up my detox and healthy living from now on. Haven’t felt so great in years.
Thank you for all the detox info, it is inspiring
